Abstract
SCK•CEN focuses its fusion research actities mainly on 4 areas: study and development of structural and first wall materials, plasma-wall interaction studies, diagnostics, waste management and recycling.
Other activities: Socio-Economical research on fusion power (SERF), contributor to the Broader Approach agreement for fusion of the Belgian Governement, research related to IFMIF, tungsten alloys, W-alloys, mechanical characterization of ODS ferritic steel, SiC/SiC composites, physical modeling of Fe-Cr alloys, development of plasmatron VISION I, development of the Fiber Optics Current Sensor for ITER, organization of the 27th SOFT (Symposium On Fusion Technology).
In parallel: participation to the Belgian Contribution to the Broader Approach, works for ITER through F4E Grants and service contracts.
