The development of a transmutation program using ADS requires accurate spallation simulation tools in order to design such systems. All the spallation simulation tools couple intranuclear cascade and evaporation models. We
report here the results of a comparison between various theoretical models with experimental results, mainly for a thicklead target representative of an ADS spallation source. The comparison deals with neutron multiplicity and spectra and
on spallation residue production. Also, the impact of this comparison of design parameters, taking into account the windowless spallation target design of some ADS, is assessed.
