N2 - In the framework of the IRIS-3 irradiation program, a full size, flat plate containing atomised U(Mo) dispersion fuel in a aluminum matrix with addition of silicon, has been irradiated in the OSIRIS reactor. The microstructural analyses of the irradiated fuel from this project was performed at the hot laboratory (LHMA) of SCK•CEN in Mol, Belgium. The obtained optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and electron probe microanalysis results provide further insight in the effect of adding silicon to the aluminum matrix.
