Abstract
It has been hypothesized recently that the stacking fault energy (SFE) can be considered as a key parameter in assessing the susceptibility of a stainless steel to IASC. Therefore, as a task within the FP6-European Project PERFECT, the objective of this study was to understand the potential impact of SFE and neutron irradiation on IASCC susceptibility by examining the microstructure evolution, defects accumulation behaviour and the deformation microstructure of three model austenitic stainless steels irradiated under simulated pressurized water reactor (PWR) conditions.
