Abstract

This report summarizes the uniform corrosion rate data of carbon steel in media that are representative for the highly alkaline environment considered in the Belgian VHLW and SF disposal concept under oxic and anoxic conditions. The ultimate goal of this report is to propose a realistic range of the long term uniform corrosion rate of the carbon steel overpack that can ultimately be used for future calculations.
